Blackett Homes Wins Display Home of the Year

We are proud to announce we have won the Master Builders Association ‘Display Home of the Year’ award for our Whitlam Display Home. Congratulations to our team and our design partners, Thursday Architecture, Sugar Designs and Pioneer Kitchens, on this exciting achievement.

MBA Display Home of the Year Award

The Master Builders Association ACT has represented the local building and construction industry since 1925. Each year the MBA recognises outstanding projects across the civil, commercial and residential construction sectors through the annual Master Builders and Asset Construction Hire Excellence Awards. The awards celebrate a commitment to quality workmanship, building strong client relationships and excellence in practice.

This year not only did we participate, but we also had the honour of receiving the Display Home of the Year Award for our beautiful Whitlam Display Home, which is also featured in the 2023 edition of Winning Homes Magazine

The Whitlam Display Home – a benchmark for sustainability in its era.

Our Display Home is the result of many years of experience building luxury homes, specifically in the Canberra region. This home is very energy efficient, with an impressive 7-star energy rating. This is attributable to its superb insulation, a cutting-edge solar system with an integrated battery to store surplus solar-generated power, and a meticulously thought-out design that strategically positions windows to harness the full potential of passive solar benefits of the property’s location. The internal finishes have also been carefully researched and built to an exacting standard. As a local Canberra business, we understand the necessity of our homes accommodating extreme weather. Our Whitlam Display Home excels in this regard, as it is built to endure our fluctuating annual temperatures ranging from -8 to 40 degrees.

Words from David – the founder of Blackett Homes.

“We, along with our Blackett Homes staff assembled a top team of design consultants, suppliers, and tradespeople to work with us to design and build this amazing home. Most of this team has contributed to the build of all Blackett Homes.”

“Everywhere you go in the Whitlam Display Home we’ve incorporated a wow factor, and we are extremely proud of our work on this award-winning home.”

If you’d like to view at our Whitlam Display Home, it’s open for public viewing from 10 am – 4 pm between Thursday – Sunday at 3 St Leon Street, Whitlam.
